The ring was pretty simple and not really any difference between it and previous efforts. I rather like the style and simplicity. I intend to try experiments with a few other designs, but that’ll be for another day.
I then started to try something else with another ring. But the results were not to my liking sadly.
I have had some memory wire for a while and not really been sure what to do with it until today when an idea struck me. I’m quite happy with the results for a first attempt. I’m by no means in my opinion good at this sort of thing but muddle through best I can.
The most important aspect however are not the results as such but the distraction that making items brings from fatigue, chronic pain and depression. All of which are a part of daily life, so any respite however small is welcome.
I’m quite happy with it though 🙂
I’ll be trying a couple more I think. As long as I can find enough suitable beads that is, the next one will have to be purple I think as I’ve already got a red one I found in a charity shop.
So in my last post I showed photos of a work in progress:
Today I finished it off and am rather happy with the result 🙂 Although one part of the ‘tooth’ pieces broke sadly in half, but epoxy glue fixed it, but it’s left a bit of a mess on the surface, i’ll have to see if i can lightly sand it off.
I also decided to make a pair of earrings and a pendant for my friend Natalie. Quick and simple, but I’m sure she’ll be happy with them 🙂
I find it strange sometimes when I find the time to be creative and create new items. These were created due to having a horrid bout of insomnia!
Really quite happy with a few of these. The agate slices are so simple and easy, I’ve a number of other coloured slices so think I’ll do some more. I did attempt to wrap one with a more elaborate wrapping, but I messed up the loop and just couldn’t get happy with it no matter what I tried so cut it all off sadly.
I also finally mastered the double slip knot for adjustable cord necklaces. Needed for a couple of current items i’ve been trying to figure out.
Recently it was my boyfriend Richard’s mother’s birthday. It was the first time we’d met as well so for the occasion I decided to make her some jewellery as a gift.
She loved it and I’m very happy with how it came out seeing as was first time really making something for another person without knowing much about them. She loved the colour as apparently her birthstone is ruby 🙂
Some points about this design:
* Richard’s father was a gardener and his mother still lives where he worked
* I wanted a feeling of nature
Now for the photos 🙂
I do need to make up some magnetic clasps though for her.
