I’ve continued to make Richard various cuff-links. Most are fairly simple. A selection below:
One thing Richard complained about for a while was how to store all the various cuff-links and tie pins I keep making him for gifts.
Thoughts turned to what would work best. At first I tried a paper-mache book, with the intention of using a ring holder for cuff-link storage. This didn’t really work as planned.
In the end I found a pine box with drawers on eBay and after a bit of effort came up with the following:
I find it strange sometimes when I find the time to be creative and create new items. These were created due to having a horrid bout of insomnia!
Really quite happy with a few of these. The agate slices are so simple and easy, I’ve a number of other coloured slices so think I’ll do some more. I did attempt to wrap one with a more elaborate wrapping, but I messed up the loop and just couldn’t get happy with it no matter what I tried so cut it all off sadly.
I also finally mastered the double slip knot for adjustable cord necklaces. Needed for a couple of current items i’ve been trying to figure out.
Just a few of the first items I tried making.
The last pair were made for a Banquet at the 2012 Discworld Convention, which was great fun. Matched the goth choker I had decided to wear nicely!
It taught me a few techniques in doing these, simple wire item type stuff. I also made a little pair of butterfly earrings similar to those above as a small gift for a friend.
It’s a start 🙂
